Compushare and the Findley Group Unveil Information
Technology Performance Planning (ITPP)
at Pacific Coast Bankers’ Bank CFO Conference
Alliance results in development of new and transformative
thought on transitioning community bank IT departments
into IT business enterprises
SOUTH COAST METRO, Calif., March 28,
2006 – At the recent Pacific Coast Bankers’
Bank CFO conference in San Francisco, Compushare, Inc.
and the Findley Group unveiled a new consulting and
educational program designed for senior executives and
boards of community financial institutions. The program,
known as Information Technology Performance Planning
(ITPP), represents a new and transformative thought
on transitioning IT departments into IT business enterprises.
The program comes as a result of the recent strategic
alliance formed between Compushare, a provider of information
security and compliance solutions for community financial
institutions, and the Findley Group, a consulting and
investment banking firm that specializes in community
banks.
Compushare and the Findley Group co-developed
ITPP in response to the common view of bankers that
the IT organization is a ‘necessary evil’.
The program helps bankers better manage the performance
of the IT department and demonstrate that IT is more
than an expense item.
“Banks are beginning to understand
that IT needs to takes precedence, just as lending,
operations and marketing does,” said Gary Findley,
director of the Findley Group. “So, ITPP was very
well received at the Pacific Coast Bankers’ Bank
CFO conference, in both the general session and the
breakout sessions. Of the 240 CFOs/upper management
in attendance, more than 35 individual banks during
the breakout sessions had the opportunity to further
discover how managing the IT department is a potential
source of revenue and not just a cost of business.”
The unveiling of ITPP took place March
8-9th in San Francisco, beginning with Findley, delivering
the keynote address, followed by a presentation from
Romir Bosu, president and CEO of Compushare. The following
morning, the conference consisted of breakout sessions,
where ITPP was discussed further. In response to the
turnout of the breakout sessions, Compushare will be
sending an ITPP guide and conducting a webinar in April
for the attendees.
“Due to the huge response of
the breakout sessions and interest from the attendees,
we plan on aggressively rolling ITPP out to the rest
of the country,” said Bosu. “ITPP will help
community financial institutions of all size realize
the impact of their IT departments taking on more of
a profit center role. Views in the banking world are
changing regarding IT and Compushare will continue increasing
banker awareness through educational initiatives and
programs.”
